From product development to delivery: end-to-end governance of the value chain
At OMR Automotive, components are developed and manufactured using a vertically integrated model that spans the entire value chain, from the engineering phase through to the delivery of the finished product. This structure allows for direct control over processes, interfaces, production parameters, and quality requirements, ensuring operational continuity, industrial consistency, and reliable execution throughout the entire production cycle.
The integration of development, casting, machining, assembly, and testing helps reduce fragmentation in the supply chain, improve co-ordination between stages, and increase the overall stability of the process.
The result is a manufacturing platform capable of handling highly complex components with a high degree of control, repeatability, and industrial capacity.
Industrial Process Architecture
The OMR model is developed through an integrated sequence of manufacturing stages, each designed to ensure process robustness and alignment with the component’s application requirements.
Research & Development, Engineering, and Design
The initial phase includes product development, co-design, and the definition of technical solutions in collaboration with the customer. Aiming to ensure manufacturability, functional compliance, and component optimisation early in the process.
Prototyping
Prototyping enables the functional, geometric, and industrial validation of design solutions, reducing the risk of deviations in subsequent phases and supporting the fine-tuning of the manufacturing process.
Aluminium and cast-iron castings
OMR handles both aluminium castings, using HPDC, LPDC, and gravity casting processes, and cast-iron castings in-house, selecting the most appropriate technology based on the mechanical, structural, and dimensional characteristics required for the component.
Machining, assembly, and final testing
Direct control of melting technologies allows for greater control over metallurgical quality, process repeatability, and process stability.
Machining
Finishing and precision machining are performed on automated production lines to ensure dimensional conformity, geometric accuracy, and consistent performance across critical components. Integration with upstream processes allows for the optimisation of workflows and improves the overall efficiency of the production cycle.
Assembly
The assembly phase involves integrating complex sub-assemblies and welded components, ensuring continuity between the production of individual components and the configuration of the final system.
Testing and Final Acceptance
The process concludes with final functional and dimensional inspections, which are extended to 100% of production lots, to ensure compliance, reliability, and full adherence to product specifications.
