The year is 1919. World War I has just ended, leaving a country battered but driven by the will to start again. In Rezzato, in the heart of the province of Brescia, the Tirini brothers turn a vision into reality: they establish a workshop specialising in the manufacture of machinery for marble processing. It is the first step on an entrepreneurial journey destined to evolve into a major player in the Italian mechanical engineering industry.
The hardships of World War II forced a change of course: the company temporarily shifted to defence production, demonstrating its adaptability and resilience. But it was in the post-war period, amid reconstruction and a drive toward the future, that a new direction emerged: the company turned its attention to the burgeoning motorised mobility sector. It is here its journey into the world of vehicle components began.
Officine Meccaniche Rezzatesi was officially founded in 1955. The company entered into a strategic partnership with OM, now part of the Iveco Group, becoming an integral part of the beating heart of Brescia’s mechanical engineering industry. It marked the beginning of a new era, characterised by technological innovation, manufacturing expertise, and an entrepreneurial vision focused on the future of the Italian automotive industry.
In the 1970s, at the height of the economic boom, the automobile became a symbol of freedom and progress. Against this dynamic backdrop, OMR made a strategic decision: it broadened its horizons, expanded its range of automotive components, and began to look beyond national borders. For OMR, growth has always meant staying ahead of the curve in the evolution of mobility.
